It's a love letter, a lifestyle, a legacy.
SERRA is a love letter to my great-great-grandmother, Katerina Serra. She came to Amador County from Italy as a young girl, in the 1800s. The only facts that I know about her are that she married and had children young, and had a difficult life. I imagine that she must have been a doer and a creator, because she raised her daughter (my great-grandma Tillie) to never have idle hands and to use every resource available to make food and beautiful things. Tillie raised my grandmother (Blanche) in this same regard. Grandma taught me how to paint, cook, style a home, and give back to the community. So with this in mind, I give you SERRA. It's a lifestyle of creating and giving and entertaining with the abundance of beauty we have all around us. It is a legacy of love.
